Co-curricular Activities

In addition to classroom learning, we offer a number of extracurricular activities that allow students to explore their interests and develop new skills. Our sports teams, Young Farmers Club, Debate Club, Christian Union Club, Art Club, Drama and Music Club, Journalism Club, Environmental Club and Scout’s Club provide opportunities for students to get involved and connect with their peers.

Sports Team

At Kinyago Dandora Secondary School we have a strong sports culture, with our students actively participating in a range of sports, including athletics, soccer, volleyball, handball, netball and indoor games like badminton games and table tennis.

Our sports teams have achieved great success, with Kinyago Dandora Secondary School handball team becoming the Champions of Njiru Sub- County in both 2018 and 2023 and our soccer team achieving the same distinction in 2019. Additionally, we have been recognized for our exemplary behaviour and sportsmanship, having been voted the most disciplined school during sub-county competitions on several occasions.

We are proud of our students’ achievements in sports and we believe that our sports program plays a crucial role in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and leadership skills among our students. We are committed to continuing to support our students’ athletic pursuits and to providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to excel both on and off the field. Young Farmers Club

At Kinyago Dandora Secondary School, we recognize the importance of science and technology in shaping the future. Therefore, we have invested in two modern science laboratories that are spacious and well equipped with the latest apparatus and equipment. It is staffed by experienced Laboratory Technician and science teachers who guide students in conducting experiments and exploring scientific concepts. We also have safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits to ensure that students can conduct experiments safely.

Our science Laboratories play a crucial role in both theoretical and practical learning, serving as a foundation for our students’ academic success. With our modern science laboratories, we are committed to providing our students with the best possible learning experience, preparing them for a successful future in science and technology.

In the words of our Chemistry teacher, Mr. Kelvin, “Like a master scientist, God created the world and human beings using the three states of matter – solid for the body, liquid for the mind and gas for the soul.”

Debate Club

At Kinyago Dandora Secondary School, we have a vibrant debate club that aims to build and sustain a culture of public speaking and good debating skills among our students. Our debate club has been instrumental in helping our students gain confidence and high self-esteem.

Over the years, our debate club has participated in a series of debates at the national level and has been featured on local TV stations. We are proud of our students’ achievements in this area and believe that debating is an essential skill that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Moving forward we are committed to continuously exposing our learners to even greater debating competitions in order to help them sharpen their fluency, eloquence, and confidence in public speaking. We believe that our debate club plays an important role in helping our students develop into confident, articulate and well-rounded individuals.

Christian Union Club

We are proud of our Christian Union Club, which provides a platform for our students to come together as believers in Christ Jesus with the goal of serving God.

The Christian Union regularly invites other schools to join us for a spiritual nourishment. The Christian Union also organizes a Sports Evangelism Camp where we use sports to spread the gospel. Our club also conducts weekly bible studies to help produce faith-filled students who can discern and stand their ground as ambassadors of the Kingdom.

We also offer leadership training to Christian Union leaders, using biblical examples of leadership to help them attain higher levels of discipline while leading others. We believe that our Christian Union club plays an important role in helping our students develop a strong foundation in faith and leadership and we are committed to supporting our students in their spiritual journeys.

Drama and Music Club

The Drama and Music Club is a vibrant platform for students to explore and develop their talents in drama, music and dance. Through rehearsals, performance and competitions, the club helps students build confidence, improve their communication skills and develop teamwork and leadership skills.

Art Club

The Art Club at Kinyago Dandora Secondary School offers an opportunity for students with a passion for art to express themselves creatively. The club offers a platform for students to develop their talents, learn new skills and techniques and showcase their work through exhibitions and art shows.

Scouts Club

The Science Club provides students with an opportunity to explore the world of science beyond the classroom. Through practical experiments and research, members learn about various scientific discipline such as biology, chemistry and physics. The club provides a platform for students to develop their critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills.
